  Shoe Box Appeal

Each year in October we organise a Shoe Box appeal through the Charity Samaritan’s Purse to send out gift boxes to needy children in many parts of the world. Most of the shoe boxes are prepared by the schoolchildren from local schools, but increasingly adults want to be involved.  Boxes can be brought to the special service that is arranged each year at St Peter's Church or to the Village Hall in the evening.  More details will be available nearer the time. In 2006 the children of St Peter's School and Faber School in Cotton gave 104 boxes, and another 46 boxes were given by others in the Village. In 2007 the Valley and Denstone Schools joined and we collected 240 boxes!  In 2009 the service is at St Peter's on November 20th at 9.30 a.m. - do come along and why not fill a shoebox. If you are not able to come to the service but would like to fill a shoebox please bring it to the Village Hall on Saturday November 21st anytime between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

Pentecost Bar BQ
Each year we celebrate the Church’s Birthday at Pentecost or Whitsunday by having a come-and-share Bar BQ in the grounds by St John’s Church.  This a relaxed and informal event and a wonderful opportunity for the various congregations to get to know each other.  All are welcome.

Alpha Courses
From time time we run Alpha Courses which have proved to be an attractive way of thinking about the Christian Faith in a non-threatening environment. If you would like to contact us please send an email - click here
