There is a local branch of this international organisation for women which meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7.30 p.m. in the Village Hall.  The next meeting is on Wednesday September 12th.  All women are welcome.  For the international web site click here

Alton Castle

Alton Castle is situated in the centre of the Village and is an activity centre run by the Roman Catholic Church attracting groups from schools and churches etc. Full information is on their web site.  It begins :-

"Alton Castle opened in September 1996 as a residential youth centre. It has had a highly successful first few years with over 5,000 children visiting the Castle each year. It's popularity can be put down to the fact that the Castle is offering a unique experience that meets a real need within schools and community youth groups within the Midlands.

At the Castle there is a clear spiritual emphasis. While every child regards Alton Castle as an amazing place when they see its towers, Gothic arches, wonderful stonework and turreted views over the Churnet Valley."
